THE THREE ACRE WOOD

In the quiet of winter, the back woods are hushed and calming. There is evidence of life all around as I walk the paths- tracks of deer, fox , and smaller animals (mice? squirrels?). The light filters through the trees in the afternoon and casts shadows on the snow. I have to be very present in my body as I make my way. Every step is intentional because the path is not smooth, but difficult and I don't want to lose my balance and fall. I hear crows. I hear my breath. I feel the cold. It is a respite from thoughts spinning in my head and stories that don't always serve me. I am reminded of Love, Generosity, Willingness, and Spiritual Awakenings.
