Joseph’s Coat Since 1989, Joseph's Coat has been serving people in Saint Paul and the surrounding Twin Cities communities whose life challenges have left them in need of essential goods and services. This free store provides clothing, household items, personal hygiene products, and children’s items. Approximately 750 individuals are served each week through the dedicated efforts of our wonderful volunteers. Items especially needed for men, women and children: socks and underwear (new or gently used), winter clothing, adult backpacks, sleeping bags, men’s tennis shoes, boots for men, women & children, soap, disposable razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo and foot powder. Please leave your donation of clean, gently used items in the barrel located in the church entry. Link to JC site |

Southwest Area Meals on Wheels The 4th Tuesday of every month, drivers deliver nearly 90 hot meals to homebound people. EPC's drivers have been delivering nourishment and kindness for over 30 years. We can use drivers every month. We pick up the hot meals at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s, and most routes are completed before noon. This is a meaningful ministry helping those right here in the Highland Park area. Contact Sid Nelson if you would like to help. |

Responding to Hunger
Hunger is a continuing and growing issue. In our local and global neighborhoods, people have the basic need for food. The Edgcumbe community will have two opportunities to address this need: a food drive in May and a visit to Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) in October. |
|
During the month of May, we will collect money and non-perishable items for a food drive. A box will be placed in the Narthex for the non-perishables and checks can be written to EPC. The monetary donations will go to MN FoodShare and the non-perishables will go to our local food shelf. We will dedicate all donations on Sunday, May 23rd, Pentecost.
Bring your donation in an extra reusable bag or paper grocery bag with handles and leave it, (more if you have them to spare), for us to donate for the Bill's Pantry Food Shelf which needs bags to deliver healthy breakfast foods each week to 45 community members living with HIV/AIDS. (More info: www.billspantry.org)
We will visit Feed My Starving Children on October 2nd from 9-11 a.m. Please mark your calendars and save this important date. More information will come in the next newsletter. |

We Collect Used Cell Phones! We have a collection box here at the church for your used cell phones. The phones are donated to the local non-profit group St. Paul Domestic Abuse Intervention Project. The cell phones are wiped clean of any information, repaired if they need it, and then handed out to victims of domestic abuse for use as emergency 911 service phones. All types of cell phones are accepted, as well as their batteries and chargers. So, instead of throwing your phone away when you buy a new one, please bring it to the church and place it in the marked box in the narthex. |
