† I would like to thank Kathy Young for her generous Lois Young Memorial gift to our music fund. We are using this gift money to pay for the choral, organ, violin and speaker scores for "Kneeling in Bethlehem," a festival of readings and carols by Michael Burkhardt and Ann Weems which we will be using on Christmas Eve this year. Thank you Kathy! Lynn Shackelford
† Dear Edgcumbe Church, Thank you so much for helping with our movie collection this year to bring a small measure of “normal” into the lives of kids and families facing very difficult times. We are always humbled by the giving nature of others and blessed to know so many care. Thank you again! Shelly Moreno (Aleena’s Movie Brigade)
† My family and I would like to say a big THANK YOU to
† I can't tell you in words how much it meant to me and Jim's sons to receive your "Glad Tidings." ... He spoke of the people at your church with such affection and how good you all were to him. I thank you for this and all the prayers and that beautiful memorial, I treasure it. God Blessed me with a wonderful son and allowed me to bring him into this world and to be with him at his last breath and give him back to Our Lord. I miss him so much but I know he is safe and pain free at last. God is so good! Pray for me, my arms ache to hug him again and I know that is selfish. God Bless you all, Mary Wilmes (Jim's mother)
† I was awestruck and deeply moved by the quality and depth of the Christmas Pageant this year. Having been involved with producing these things for over twenty years, I can understand the amount of effort and time that went into producing this year's event. I can accurately say that this year's production ranked in the top five pageants ever produced, if not the best. Thank you to Lynn Shackelford for finding such a delightful play. Thanks to Meredith Holt, Joyce Nelson, and assistants for the costuming and staging. And thank you to the Edgcumbe singers who worked with the children for over a month to coax such beautiful sounds from the actors. It was a joint effort that we all were privileged to see. Peace & Love, Chuck Neve
† "Edgcumbe Presbyterian Church donated their entire Christmas Eve offering to the brigade! We were invited this past Sunday to [their worship] service and even though it was hard to think about why we were there we were truly humbled that so many are so open and giving for a little girl they never got to meet. I know I have said it before and I will say it again, thank you is never enough but it is all we have. So thank you for everything.” From Shelly Moreno, mother of Aleena Moreno, and coordinator of Aleena’s Movie & Game Brigade, as told on Aleena’s Caring Bridge website. |
